StoryFest: International Storytelling Festival Singapore 2025

Story Walk :Roving storytelling experience

Story Walk is back with an outdoor roving storytelling experience that intertwines with the Civic District’s public art installations, ‘Benchmarks’. Rediscover the stories which shimmer along the side of the Singapore River as you stroll, sit, and listen to tales told by storytellers.

Story Walk takes its participants on an imaginative storytelling journey inspired by some of our most iconic monuments and public spaces. Taking cues from three commissioned public art benches, each storyteller will share a unique tale, weaving local history with folklore, remembered fondly. These tales bring to light the interconnectedness between the bench artworks, their surroundings, and the rich heritage of the district.

Pause, ponder, and play! Complete the inspiring journey by exploring your own creativity through a diorama-making activity. Grace your mini gardens with a variety of pebbles and moss, and take home your very own imagined landscape.

Story Walk is conceptualised by Kamini Ramachandran featuring stories created by Verena Tay. These stories are brought to life by storytellers Laura Kee, Cheyenne Alexandria Phillips, and Hafiz Rashid. The diorama activity is facilitated by visual artists Victor Emmanuel and Stellah Lim.

A digital iteration of the programme will also be available in mid-February. Stay tuned for updates!

Come listen to the tales of mistaken identity that have imbued these places with such affection, and discover much more than meets the eye.
